INK

Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle returns to the screen with a propulsive rollercoaster of a drama about the launch of The Sun newspaper.

When Rupert Murdoch acquires The Sun in 1969, he calls upon editor Larry Lamb to change the tabloid’s direction. Their partnership has long- term consequences for UK journalism and the way that British society is portrayed by the media. There are strong leading performances from Jack O’Connell (28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, Sinners, Back to Black) and Guy Pearce (The Brutalist, Lawless, The Proposition).

Boyle directs with his usual dynamism and flair in his first film since 28 Years Later. His credits include Slumdog Millionaire and Trainspotting, as well as the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

Ink is a hugely entertaining, cautionary tale about the power of the press.

‘A very compelling yarn, galvanized by a terrifically bullish performance from Jack O’Connell.’  – Guy Lodge, Variety
