The Duke of York’s Picturehouse is one of the oldest cinemas in the UK, opening on the 22 September 1910. It has been home to CINECITY since the festival began in 2003.

Accessibility

ACCESSIBILITY

Duke of Yorks is a Grade II listed building, so not all spaces are accessible. However, all key areas including the foyer, toilets and auditorium are accessible on level access. Unfortunately the balcony and bar can only be accessed by ascending a staircase of 25 steps.

Duke of Yorks has a number of other access facilities including an induction loop system in the auditorium, large print programmes, welcomes assistance dogs and free tickets for carers.
