      • White Night 2010 – Séance en nuit blanche

        Project Description

        Glimpsed through the open first floor upstairs window of a former chapel of rest, – for Brighton & Hove City Council’s White Night on the theme of ‘Illumintions’- a topsy-turvy world of magic and mayhem, devils and demons and delirious colour was witnessed by thousands of passers by, created using rediscovered early colour film experiments and magic lantern slides.

        On the ground floor people were invited in to experience more early film experiments and Magic Lantern performances by Trevor Beattie that would have been screened over century ago, depicting a surreal, psychedelic underworld where the natural order is turned on its head and time itself goes backwards…
