White Night Festival

White Night  (2008 – 2011) was led by Brighton & Hove Arts Commission and Brighton & Hove city council working with partners across the city. It was funded by Interreg IV A France (Channel) England co-financed by ERDF. CINECITY presented three large scale site specific projects for White Night between 2009 and 2011.

Underwater Utopias 2011

CINECITY worked with partners QED to install a floating screen in the turtle pool inside Brighton Sealife. The White Night theme for the year was ‘Utopias’.

Séance en nuit blanche 2010

CINECITY projected early colour film and magic lantern slides through the windows of a former Chapel of Rest, creating a topsy-turvy world of magic and mayhem for the White Night theme of ‘Illuminations’.

Dive-In Movies 2009

Cine-City turned the Prince Regent Swimming Pool into a Picturehouse and presented a ‘mix tape’ of swimming pool scenes complemented by archive footage.
