This special panel discussion showcases cutting edge performance work, and will explore how artists and film makers are creating new, inventive relationships between cinema and the urban space.
Internationally-renowned artists’ group Blast Theory will present their recent Brighton Digital Festival piece, Machine to See With, a mobile cinema experience which casts the participant as the protagonist in a bank robbery.
Me And The Machine will show work that uses the screen to engage audiences in immersive sensorial experiences, somewhere between reality and fiction. The company created sell-out Brighton festival piece, I Came By Myself to a Crowded Place, that staged unexpected filmic encounters on the city street.
Artist Rachel Henson will present her filmic, flick-book navigated journeys, including her recent project for the White Night Festival, a night-walk from the depths of a neglected underground car park to Brighton’s old pier.
The event is chaired by Kate Genevieve, Chroma Collective, for the BANG network
