Brighton Festival 2017 film programme revealed

River of Grass

15 February 2017

CINICITY are proud to be working in partnership with Brighton Festival 2017 and this year’s Guest Director Kate Tempest on their programme of films and film related events.

This year’s festival theme is everyday epic giving us the opportunity to throw a spotlight on the work of director Kelly Reichardt with screenings of five of her films; River of Grass, Old Joy, Wendy and Lucy, Meek’s Cutoff and Night Moves. Reichardt is one of the most important auteurs of American independent cinema, renowned for her empathy and tender humanism in telling stories of ordinary people.

“She has made some of the most haunting and enigmatic movies in recent American cinema, but chances are you won’t recognise Kelly Reichardt’s name” Ryan Gilbey, The Guardian

In addition to Reichardt’s films we present a preview of David Lynch: The Art Life a revealing documentary about the formative years of film maker David Lynch. The Unfilmables is an audiovisual performance from Wrangler and Francesca and Mica Levi which promises a spectacular response to the greatest films never made. To compliment the moving image we present an In Conversation, discussion event with ‘the godmother of film’ Tessa Ross.

The full festival programme is now online and members booking is open follow this link for more information brightonfestival.org
