LOVE, CECIL wins this year’s Audience Award
After a lot of counting, we’re thrilled to announce that Lisa Immordino Vreeland’s Cecil Beaton bio documentary, LOVE, CECIL, has won this year’s Audience Award. Charming Cecil Beaton fans and initiates alike, Love, Cecil tells the story of Beaton’s career, through his own words, using interviews and extract’s from the taste-maker’s diaries. Catch it playing from Friday 15 December at Lewes’ Depot cinema – click here to book tickets.
Following a close-second was the wonderful The Ballad of Shirley Collins, for which we were thrilled to have the woman herself in attendance for a Q&A CINECITY’s own Frank Gray after the screening. For those that didn’t manage to snag tickets to our sell-out screening during the festival, fear not! The Ballad of Shirley Collins will be playing as part of Picturehouse’s Discover Tuesday strand on 9 January 2018 at Duke’s at Komedia – click here to book tickets.
Special mentions also go to the multi-Golden Globe nominated Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and 120 BPM (Beats Per Minute). If you missed these two during the festival, catch them on release in the new year, Three Billboards… is headed your way on 12 January and 120 BPM is expected 6 April 2018.
Thank you to everyone who got involved and cast their vote – we had a staggering 1,800 votes for a total of 43 eligible films this year.
