Opening Night Film Confirmed!

It's confirmed - CINECITY has its opening film and will be launching this year's festival on 20th November at The Duke of York's Picture House with Woody Allen's latest comedy drama VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA!
Director: Woody Allen.
Starring: Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz, Scarlett Johansson, Rebecca
Hall, Patricia Clarkson.
USA/ Spain 2008. 96 mins.
Woody's latest return to form, ponders the nature of love and romance against the sun-drenched backdrop of beautiful Barcelona. Two Americans
abroad, Vicky (Rebecca Hall) a student of Catalan Culture and her friend Cristina (Scarlett Johansson), find themselves seduced by more than just
the city when they meet a free-spirited artist, Juan (Javier Bardem). At first it seems that Juan and Cristina are made for each other, but
events take an unexpected turn causing complications for all concerned. Tensions are heightened when Juan's ex-wife, Maria (Penelope Cruz),
enters the mix. Shot by Spanish cinematographer Javier Aguirresarobe, Barcelona has never looked more tempting. The impressive cast are all at
their best with Javier Bardem giving a particularly splendid central performance as the archetypal sexy Don Juan Spaniard, with Cruz clearly
enjoying the role as the volatile wife.
