About
CINECITY
THE BRIGHTON FILM FESTIVAL
15TH NOVEMBER – 2ND DECEMBER 2007
CINECITY returns for its 5th edition this year from 15th November to 2nd December. Presented in partnership with the Duke Of York's Picturehouse and the University of Brighton, CINECITY features a global mix of UK premieres and previews, treasures from the archives plus the latest digital adventures and artists' moving images.
CINECITY screens right across Brighton & Hove in all the city's cinemas and a host of other locations. This year the festival also launches a new screen in the centre of the city, at the Sallis Benney Theatre at the University of Brighton.
We are in the middle of putting this year's programme together but a number of the special events and strands are already confirmed.
We present a special focus on the Austrian avant-garde cinema and are delighted to announce that Peter Tscherkassky and Gustav Deutsch will both be at the festival to present masterclasses hosted by curator Mark Webber. These will take place on Sat 24th November.
Renowned South African artist William Kentridge will also be coming to Brighton for the festival to launch an exhibition of his moving image work.
Remember to sign up for our email newsletters for regular festival updates and special offers. CINECITY is supported by Brighton & Hove City Council, Screen South / UK Film Council and the University of Brighton.
